ASO: Quick-acting fuse up to 1000 VDC in a compact design 10.3x38
FSO: Fuseholder for standard DIN rail mount
SCHURTER introduces the new solar fuse ASO and fuseholder FSO with quick-acting characteristic to protect photovoltaic and similar DC-applications. The new product extend the strategic segment “renewable energy” with a 1000 VDC fuse with a current range from 1 A to 30 A and a touch safe fuseholder FSO. As PV systems have grown in size, so have their circuit protection requirements such as voltage rating. This high performance DC fuse is in a compact 10.3x38 mm package.
The ASO fuse protects PV modules, conductors and similar DC-applications from the potentially devastating effects of a low short circuit current in systems upwards of 1000 VDC.
The wire bonding makes the fuse stable and reliable with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. The ASO fuse is especially designed for protecting DC low short circuit current and overvoltage conditions like solar panels (strings), inverters, battery charges and combiner boxes. The touch safe fuseholder FSO is designed for grid-tie or off-grid array combiners and standard DIN rail mount.
The products includes cURus agency approval, are RoHs compliant and halogen-free.
Schurter introduces the new USFF 1206 fuses with super-quick-acting characteristic for low current applications. The new product extends the current range of the successful USF 1206 for lower ratings ranging from 160 to 250 mA. The wire bonded fuse offers extremely low impedance values compared to competitive products, providing exceptional performance in dense circuits.
Unlike competing fuses, the USFF 1206 200 mA version offers a voltage drop value at rated current of 87 mV, which is about 3 times less than competive products. The wire bonding makes the fuse stable and reliable with an operating temperature range of -55 °C to 90 °C. It is especially designed for protecting DC over-current conditions where heat dissipation is critical, including computer peripherals and communication equipment. The product includes cURus agency approval and is RoHS compliant and halogen-free.
SCHURTER now offers radial leaded varistors, also referred to as MOV (Metal Oxide Varistors), which help protect electronic circuits against surge transients, such as can be caused by lightning strikes and switching of contacts and inductive loads. Varistors are suited to a wide variety of applications including switching mode power supplies, ballasts and motor protection used in areas such as industry, telecom and medical technology as well as in consumer goods.
There are different types for various applications fields available: AVTS for secondary protection, AVTP for primary protection, and AVTT for 3-phase applications. The varistors, all approved according to IEC 61051, UL 1449, UL 1414 as well as CSA C22.2 and conforming to RoHS regulations, are available in plastic bags, taped and reeled and in ammo packaging.
The UMZ 250 offers time-lag characteristic according to IEC 60127-4 and is a Universal Modular Fuse (UMF) with rated current values from 315 mA to 4 A. The product provides a high breaking capacity of up to 200 A at 250 VAC. The clip option allows a customer fuse replacement with the benefit that only the UMT 250 fits. This has the advantage that e.g. the technical specification in contrast to a 5x20 mm solution does not vary and spare fuses could be sold through the equipment manufacturer. With this setup, the manufacturer receives important information about equipment failures in the field. Gold cap are required, in order that the clip and the fuse are not soldered together in the reflow soldering process. As replacement, the standard UMT 250 can be used instead.
